Sunday morning 24 March.....
We awoke to a huge cloud over the lake this morning. It was so thick we couldn't see the the lake or the ski area. It was kinda spooky.

This is where we work....
....it is the delivery/storage area of the Archives. We are right next to the loading dock. When shipments come in the large door is left open, and we feel the effects of the winter weather. Sometimes JoAnn wears her coat and gloves and we continue to take photographs.

Schwarzsee (German) or Lac Noir (French)...
....is the lake in front of our Chalet. In English it is Black lake. It is about 1 mile long and 1/2 half mile wide in the middle. It is frozen over and the ice is over 1 foot thick.

JoAnn is taking the picture....
...making sure the borders are uniform and that the page is not skewed. This book has to be done one side at a time. We take all the left pages first and then go through the book again taking all the right pages in the proper order..
Bill is making sure the book is.....
....level and at the correct height. As you capture pages, the height changes (the book gets lower) from the camera above. So we have to keep raising the table. We check height and level after every 25 pictures. This book is of the 1850 census and weighs over 40 pounds.

The resort town of Schwarzsee....
....if you look closely you can see a paraglider with a red sail in the middle of this picture. People are out on the lake, walking, skating, cross country skiing, or just having fun. A lot of paragliders land on the lake as it is very close to the ski lift which takes them up again for another flight.
