A little Christmas cheer...
....Anita had this on our fireplace hearth. When the candles are lit, the hot air goes up and turns the pinwheel. In the little home is a little manger scene. This is one of Anita's Swiss decorations.

Here are two pages that we digitized...
......this week. There were some Burgis here in the 1800'. I've tracked my Burgi line back to the 1500's and they all came from the Eastern part of Switzerland, not here.
The next six pictures were taken....
.....at a Swiss military open house where my cousin's son, (Marco Burgi) is in training. This weapon that I am holding weighs over 40 pounds.

Our new office....
.....we are lucky they found a spot for us. They are swamped with storing old records from many of the villages and cities in the canton. They found this little corner for us.

This is where we will live for the next 6 months....
.....it is a duplex chalet owned by my cousins Urs and Anita Burgi. They
have been very kind to let us live here and it is only 30 minutes from the Archives where we will work. We live in one half and they live in the other.

Here we are in front of our new camera set-up....
....installed by our trainer David. This is where we will work for the next several months digitizing about 100,000 census records for the Archives of Canton Fribourg, Switzerland.
This is our trainer, David Schauperl from Germany....
.....he is married to a gal who's former home teacher was President Uchtdorf, when he was a Bishop/Stake president. David used to stay at Pres. Uchtdorf's house when he was long distance dating her, in Germany. Now they have 4 children. He was a great trainer.
