This is the "Upper Room"....

....where the "last supper" took place.  There were many tourists visiting all of the sites, even though we were there during the off season.

This is the path the Savior took....

....on the way through Old Jerusalem to the Cross.  We walked these steps in modern day "Old Jerusalem.  There are many markers that show his path and plight.

This is the prison of Jesus where he was held...

.....before being condemned to the cross.

There are 2 places where Jesus is thought to be burried.....

....the one here in the garden tomb and the other in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.  To me, this one has a much better feeling about it.  It is in the middle of a garden that is very close to Golgotha.  The other one has had a huge church built over it and could be the correct one.

The sign on the tomb door.....

....tell the whole story.  This is the basis of our faith in his miraculous birth, life and atonement.

This is the Dome of the Assension....

...on the Mount of Olives where it is believed Christ ascended to heaven.  It was a 2 minute walk from our hotel.  Inside they had stone that is said to have Jesus's footprint on it.

Much excavation work is still being done in Jerusalem.....

....can you imagine what might be behind these partial buildings.  So ends our trip the Holy Land, May 27  -  May 31, 2013.  Very, very interesting and enjoyable.

We got a little snow today....

.....but only on the mountains.

I ususally take pictures from our deck across the lake.....

....this picture was taken from across the lake back at our chalet.  I circled it so you know which one is ours.  It is just as beautiful from either side of the lake.

We have been in Switzerland for 2 years and have not seen.....

......one St. Bernard dog.  That is about to change.  JoAnn is standing outside the Museum of St. Bernard dogs.  They have a kennel and a very good display and artifacts on the history of these very important dogs.  You can read more about them and their history at:   St. Bernard (dog)

We are entering the museum of St. Bernard dogs....

.....they are legendary in Switzerland, kind of like Swiss: cheese, chocolate and watches.

The next three pictures are of real live....

....St. Bernard dogs at the museum kennels.  These dogs have a legacy of helping stranded or injured travelers going across the Swiss Alps. They can withstand cold temperatures and are good trackers.

Live St. Bernard dog resting on his rug....

......they all looked healthy and well taken care of.

All the dogs we saw at the museum kennels.....

......were either sleeping or just laying down.  They did not seem very energetic.

The next five posts are pictures of St. Bernard dogs....

.....not live, breathing dogs from the museum kennels.

Picture of two St. Bernard dogs....

....out looking to help lost or stranded travelers.

Another picture of St. Bernard dogs....

....in front of the "The Great St. Bernard" hospice where the mountain pass travelers would stay.

Many St. Bernard dogs were owned and trained....

....by religious organizations, again to help lost or incapacitated climbers or travelers.

This was a museum creation of a dog...

....being sent out by his owner.  It was pretty realistic.

As we were leaving the museum....

....we saw this Roman amphitheater right next door.  I am holding up a table place mat that I bought at the museum showing (2) St Bernard dogs.

This was taken with my zoom lens....

.....from our chalet across the lake and if you look carefully you can see the cows, on the road, heading up the mountain.  They will spend the summer grazing on the mountain slopes.

Rainbow taken this afternoon.....

.....from our deck in Schwarzsee, Switzerland.

We had a surprise visit by 31 people....

....today that were on a BYU bus tour of 7 European countries.  We had a record attendance of 100+ people.  We only have 10 headsets for translation but they passed them around.

JoAnn made cake pops again for after church....

.....these kids were the first in line.  Over 150 cake pops were consumed very quickly.

All the cake pops were gone...

....in a few minutes.  The bus of BYU students just loved them and so did everyone else.

We were at the Temple today....

....and they were pumping heat into these flower beds.  I've never seen that done before.

I'll bet you never had one of these.....

.....rhubarb  yogurt.  Rhubarb is quite popular here but it is still expensive.  (Doesn't joghurt sounds like a medicine used for a sports injury?)

In our little village of Schwarzsee.....

....we are surrounded by mountains and the tops of them get the last bit of sun for the day.

In the morning the lake is.....

....like a mirror.  Everything is quiet and calm.  There is some snow left but not much.

Spring painting.....

....this is the second 12 foot radiator that we painted.

It must be Spring.....

....the cows are returning to the mountains.  I think they already walked 5 miles and had another 5 miles to go....based on what the cow left behind on the road.

Another product rarely seen in the US......

....apricot sauce, just like applesauce.  It is very good.....especially if you like apricots.

We gathered at the water's edge....

....with cows and cow bells preparing us for the baptism of Lilian Faria.

It was close to 55 degrees and cloudy....

.....but much happiness was abound....even Louis (their 4 year old) in the center.

Charlie & Lilian are from the Dominican Republic....

......Charlie is here looking for work.  They are a great family.

Final instructions before going in....

.....the water was cold but the spirit was warm.

The water was really cold....

....it is from the mountains and we had snow 2 weeks ago.

Just coming out of the water....

....you can see how fast the water is running.

After the baptism we went to the Gysler's home....

.....for some snacks and warming up....especially for Charlie & Lilian.

The church kids always like to play....

....on our Kindle and Ipod.
