Here is the Swiss Temple, near the capital city of Bern...

....dedicated in 1955 by President David O. McKay.  This was the 9th Temple built in this despensation.  We usually go here on Wednesdays.  It is about 1 hour away from where we live.

We wrote everyone on April 1st that we had a major earthquake.....

....This building was just built this way, for some reason.

This is what is left of the castle....

....of Pont en Ogoz.  The other end of this lake is very close to our apartment.

For only a couple of weeks during the spring, the water is low enough...

....that you can walk to this castle on dry land.  We drove by 4 days later and it was an island again.

This is what is was suppose to look like in it's time...

.....no one has tried to restore it.

This is all that is left....

.....after 700 years of wars, weather and neglect.

Here we are on top of one of the remaining parts.....

......of the castle. (About 50 feet up.)

This sign explains some of the history.....

.....of this unique castle.

This chapel is the only building that has been restored....

....on the sometimes island.

We saw this sign last spring and didn't know what it meant....

In this area, frogs cross the road and they are asking drivers to be careful to not run over them.  Volunteers put up a fence to stop them from being run over and then collect them in buckets and deposit them on the other side of the road so they can lay their eggs in the swamp.

This sign explains that volunteers catch these critters.....

......that are stopped by the fence (next post) and lead them to safety so they can reproduce.

This is the fence that saves all the frogs.....

....that come down from the forest to lay their eggs in the swamp.

Old Town Fribourg, is known for it's bridges. Looking up is the....

....newer area of Fribourg.  You can see a white swan on the river.

Anita and I on a street in old town Fribourg...

.....This was on the 6th of April 2012.

A look down a typical street...

....Anita told us the story of her friend who went shopping here and dropped her bag of newly purchased apples and they rolled, and rolled down this cobble stone street.

This is one reason why they call it old town....

....many buildings had dates like this on them.

We went inside this old church dating back to the 13th century....

....this was just one area where they had statues and paintings.

This covered bridge leads out of Old Town Fribourg....

.....on the way to the canyon where the fish farm is.

The fish farm is less than a mile from this spot....

....and looking back you can see Fribourg.  We cross over this bridge to get to Fribourg.

We drove up this canyon....

....just minutes from downtown Fribourg.

The owner said that there are over 200,000 fish at his pond....

.....and it takes 3 years for maturity.  (This is only one of his ponds.)

Here the son of the owner is getting our fish...

....from the pond with his net.

Here is what our fish looked like.....

.....just a minute out of the water.

This is what our fresh fish dinner looked like....

.....and boy was it delicious.  Urs is a GREAT cook!!
